DigitalSpot 3000 DT komunikuje pomocí aktivního RDM. Vstup do jeho menu a nastavení DMX adres může být dálkově provedeno z počítače, který má instalovaný ROBE RDMNet software a s přístrojem je propojen pomocí DreamBox USB interface. Adresování pomocí externího bateriového boxu je tedy ve srovnání s RDM Protokolem velmi zastaralé.
